MAKE A DIFFERENCE

From lucky shots to imagining then execution (Mentality in golf)

In the morning the ANK students went through a mental training session in guidance through Chris. He explained the importance of different types of mental phases we go through when playing golf. Students initially understood "mentality in golf" as simply as 'having doubt during play', 'getting frustrated on course' and 'dealing with pressure'. Focus bands were used to test each individual which area they lack in so they can practice mastering.

For example, most of you have dealt with negative thoughts and pressure on the first tee of competition. Ask yourself 'Your snap hook into the trees on your first tee was it because of technical issue or mental mistake?' It was because of the negative thoughts and doubt increased the muscle tension during your swing to pull and strengthen the tension so your eyes blackout during impact. Next time you're on the first tee close your eyes and loosen up all the muscle tension and picture your ball in the middle of the fairway.
