Six of our ANK Academy students competed in the JGQ 18 hole Points Challenge at Palmer Coast. The golf course was in great condition with fast greens. Palmer coast is going to hold the Third and final round of the upcoming Junior Masters in a few weeks. It was a great test for our juniors to play competition pressure in preparation for the Masters. The weather was extremely hot and the course consisted of a lot of slopes which tested junior fitness under pressure. With the fairways narrow and lots of trees and bunkers, tee shot was very demanding for our players. All of our players learnt positioning your tee shot to approach the green was more effective than trying to muscle a big drive onto a narrow fairway. We will practice smarter course management and optimal decision making in preparation for the junior masters.
